New Year's Resolutions

I would like to thank whoever came up with the idea of the New Year’s resolution. What a great way to start the new year, with goals and hopes for bettering yourself and in better yourself you better the people around you and indirectly effect the world! Whether it is exercising more, eating less, spending more time with family, reading more, watching less TV, or giving more __________ (you fill in the blank). These resolutions are great I hope and pray that we never give up on making resolutions, because even though some might not be achieved, for at least the beginning of the year we make more effort and care more. I love the promises of a New Year and the blessings contained that we know nothing of yet! It’s the excitement of looking back on what took place the previous year, embracing those we welcomed into the world, and honoring those who left this world. As we press on to 2010 lets all make New Year Resolutions! My personal resolution is to seek wisdom fervently. Now in order to complete your resolutions, you have to have a plan that’s thought out, and you have to place reminders on your bathroom mirror, or on the fridge, or even in your car. Finally to see your resolution to the finish you must tell someone let them know what you are wanting to do and tell them they can keep you accountable to that, that way you know when you see them they will probably casually ask you about how you are doing with your resolution. Here’s my plan to see my resolution to the finish:
1) I will real one chapter in Proverbs every day this year. (There are 31 chapters so I should get through the entire book each month reading it 12 times in a year)
2) I have changed the back round of my laptop to the word WISDOM, so that every day I will be reminded of what I am trying to accomplish
3) I have told my 2 good friends what I am doing so that each time I see them they can ask me about the chapter that I am in that day or what I have been learning about that week
4) I am meeting with people who are older than me and have more wisdom than I to counsel with them on life and choices because with age comes experience and with experience comes wisdom
5) I will daily pray for the blessing of wisdom in my life, that in everything I do I may increase and align myself with truth

This is my New Year’s Resolution, What’s yours?

Blessings,

McKenzie
