“What do I Know of Holy”
What do I know of You
Who spoke me into motion?
Where have I even stood
But the shore along Your ocean?
Are You fire? Are You fury?
Are You sacred? Are You beautiful?
What do I know? What do I know of Holy?
I guess I thought that I had figured You out
I knew all the stories and I learned to talk about
How You were might to save
Those were only empty words on a page
Then I caught a glimpse of who You might be
The slightest hint of You brought me down to my knees

I was on a trip this past weekend, a friend of mine was with me and this song started to play. She encouraged me to listen to the words of this song, because of how sweet the words are. This was such a great reminder to me, that yes God is my friend, he is my father, but he is also still mysterious and amazing, I forget the awe of worshiping him and the fear of the power he contains. I am jolted almost by the power and wonder that is encompassed by Him. It’s best shown through his people, when the lost son or daughter who was running so far away comes back to the Father to be embraced by love. When we are so overwhelmed by the presence of his Holy Spirit that speaking would depreciate that time and moment. When you are at your last bit of strength and getting up and continuing on feels impossible, but something moves you something stronger and greater than yourself. When you are compelled to pray for someone or call them or even tell them God loves them, and they break down because they were so desperate for a word from God and he chose you to deliver it. I am so thankful for divine inspirations such as this song, because it is things like this song that reminds me that in every weakness and every imperfection he is more than capable to complete the good work that he started in me and in you!
