This week was the first week I scraped the frost off my windshield when I went to work. Don’t tell my husband, but I started playing Christmas music on my computer at the office. I know there are some (my husband) that has a hard time with cold weather and the coming of Winter, but I thank God for the changing seasons and what each one brings! I love the smell of burning leaves. Sitting by the fire outside on Saturday nights and helping little ones with red noses and chapped lips make s’mores - chili on the stove and good friends warming the house with their presence.
Plans for Thanksgiving are in the works as we get out our recipe books. How fun to have 4 daughters all give their ideas of what to add to the turkey and dressing. Pumpkins and corn husks are seen sprinkled around the property as the shadows get longer and the harvest moon gets brighter and brighter.
My prayer for us all is that as we enter, once more, this festive time that we always step back and get the eternal perspective in all we do. Don’t let the days fly by with a flurry to just look back without a real connection to the blessings we live in - each day.
