Q. How long have you worked with Premier and what do you think the two organizations have in common?
A. This is our first venture with Premier and our hope is that Winter Jam will be a huge success in Southwest Florida. The lineup is very WAY-FM-friendly.
Q. What are some exciting things going on at the station right now?
A. We’re celebrating the completion of a toy drive for needy children in our area where more than 5,000 toys were collected. We’re also excited about our upcoming show with Rebecca St. James, BarlowGirl and Jadon Lavik in March.
Q. Are you gearing up for Winter Jam 2006? I see that there is a concert on Jan. 19th at the Lee County Civic Center. Do you expect a full house?
A. This will be the first Winter Jam in our area and we’re pushing it like crazy on the air since it features so many of our artists. We’re hopeful for a really good turnout.
Q. After that, Rebecca St. James, BarlowGirl and special guest Jadon Lavik are coming to town in March. Will that event be focusing on a specific audience – teens to college-age?
A. This will be a unique show geared for both youth and families. These artists are not afraid to be considered role models and their passion for changed lives in Christ will make for a special evening.
Q. What is your outreach – any idea how many listeners you have?
A. We currently reach 42,500 listeners with a focus on Women 18-34.
Q. What do you think makes your radio station unique and a favorite among listeners?
A. We focus on what our target listener wants. WAY-FM spends a fair amount of money researching music and listener habits. This laser focus has resulted in more listeners than ever.
Q. What role do you think music, in general, plays in people's lives?
A. The music we play is a daily encouragement for folks who tune in. We get about 1,000 e-mails a year testifying to that. The songs that we play remind people of God’s intense love for them and are much different than songs heard on mainstream stations, for the most part.

Too busy to stop and celebrate, the owners are promoting 60 concerts in the first three months of 2006, coordinating the 10th Winter Jam concert tour and hosting at least two Christian music cruises – K-LOVE Friends & Family Music Cruise and Girl’s Get-A-Way.
Dreaming big has never been a problem for Gentry and Morgan. Neither has working hard to make their dreams a reality.
“With God as our pilot, there’s no telling where we will go,” Morgan said.
“I’m looking forward to another 10 years,” Gentry said. “Our primary goal has not changed through the years. It’s to make a significant difference for Jesus Christ in the lives of as many people as we can through our company. That will always remain the No. 1 goal.”
